Cannabis College

Location: Oudezijds Achterburgwal 124

In 1997, philanthropic Dutchman Henk Poncin and a few members of a group known as the “Green Prisoners Release”, who had been campaigning for the freedom to cultivate cannabis, decided to do their community a service. Together they created a public information centre devoted to all the beneficial aspects of the beautiful Cannabis sativa L. plant. After a year of hard work and renovation, the new information centre and its flourishing organic cannabis garden was housed in a monument-status canal house in the heart of Amsterdam.

"The Cannabis College offers free advice on the safe use of recreational and medicinal cannabis, in addition to educating the public about the many industrial uses of the hemp plant. Tours of our Cannabis garden allow us to illustrate our information with a beautiful, completely organic example of indoor growing." - Cannabis College

The guys at the Cannabis College have a testing facility that test the quality of your cannabis by using a TLC protocol which can offer an analysis over a variety of cannabis products from weed, hash and even brownies. Unfortunately they can not test oils due to the laws in the country.

The price for testing is €25 for the basic analysis which covers THC, THCV, CBD, CBN, CBC & CBG content. The price for full analysis is €50 which includes microscopic analysis, basic breakdown of effects and the therapeutic potential.

The cannabis college is actually free to enter and you can go in and speak to the guys about anything cannabis related and they will be happy to help or talk to you. You can also use the vaporisers which they kindly have for customers to use. One of the best things about the college is the garden downstairs which anybody can see but they do have a small charge for this which I believe is €3 per person. Definitely worth checking out and the small contribution goes to help the running and up keep costs of the college.
